Phylogenetic position of †Coleopsis archaica (red) based on apomorphies visible in the fossil re-described here. †Tshekardocoleidae is designated as potentially non-monophyletic, due to the absence of apomorphic characters. The clade Metacoleoptera (Boudinot et al. 2022) includes all extant beetles and the stem group taxa except for †Tshekardocoleidae, †Permocupedidae and †Coleopsis archaica.
